Marquez, Hamilton, Roberts Earn Leaders Titles at Delta Downs

VINTON, LA—JULY 10, 2017—Owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr., jockey John Hamilton and trainer Kenney Roberts, Sr. were each awarded Saturday night "Leaders" titles for the just completed Delta Downs 2017 Quarter Horse Meet.

Leading Delta Owner

Rogelio Marquez, Jr. capped an especially great season as leading owner with a (33) 12-4-5 record and earnings of $714,770. His major wins included Saturday's Lee Berwick Futurity(RG1) and the Lassie Futurity(RG2) in May. The Marquez stable posted a 36% win rate and his horses were in the top three 64% of the time.

Tony Doughtie's stable had a (21) 10-3-1 record and pocketed $143,025. T M Ranch finished third with a (11) 7-9-3 record and $317,876 in earnings.

Leading Delta Jockey

John Hamilton scored another leading jockey title after posting a (280) 59-41-35 record and earning $851,225. He rode 21% winners and was in the top 3 48% of the time.

Noe Castaneda finished second with (200) 35-23-29 and $681,141 earned. Damian Martinez was third with a ( 293) 32-37-44 record and $625,267 in the bank.

Leading Delta Trainer

Kenneth Roberts, Sr. earned another leading trainer title with 61 wins during the 2017 Delta QH Meet.

Kenneth Roberts, Sr. picked up another leading trainer title after posting (208) 61-34-35 record and earning of $1,515,184. The stable had 29% winners and a 53% top 3 finish.

Michael Taylor finished second with (185) 47-27-23 record and $707,607 earned. Orlando Orozco was third with (152) 20-14-15 and $275,630 banked.
