Bryant has also been a senior vice-president with Churchill Downs, Inc., parent company of Fair Grounds Race Course, since April 2010.
"The Fair Grounds is part of the fabric of New Orleans and I wish it a very bright future," Bryant said. "The team that runs the day to day operations at the Fair Grounds are very good at what they do."
Bryant was hired at the Fair Grounds from Harrah's New Orleans, and his position at the track leaned toward the slot-machine and video poker side of operations. Jason Boulet, the former racing secretary at the track, was promoted to senior director of racing in 2015.
According to Lauren DePaso, a spokesperson for CDI, Bryant's position has not been filled, and CDI is conducting a nationwide search to for a replacement.
Fair Grounds annually conducts a 10-day summer Quarter Horse meet and runs three graded Quarter Horse stakes as part of its annual Louisiana Champions Day program in December.
