Avasippingoncoronas Gets Second Win This Year In Louisiana Downs Feature Allowance


Avasippingoncoronas, under jockey Jarred Journet, winning an $11,000 350 yard feature allowance Friday afternoon at Louisiana Downs.

BOSSIER CITY, LA–FEBRUARY 17, 2023–Avasippingoncoronas, a 3-year-old daughter of champion Open Me A Corona, raced to her second consecutive win this year when she defeated Zee Runaway Train by three-quarters in an $11,000 350 yard feature allowance Friday afternoon at Louisiana Downs.

Avasippingoncoronas broke well under jockey Jarred Journet then extend her lead to finish the 350 yards in :17.946, a 90 speed index with an 11 mph tailwind  It was the second consecutive win in as many starts this year for the Louisiana bred.

Trainer Jeremy Derozin conditions the chestnut filly for owner Arelle Moore. Winless in seven starts last year, the $10,670 winner's purse swelled her bankroll to $20,000. Out of the Tac It Like A Man mare Jls Tackitlikejohn, Avasippingoncoronas broke her maiden on February 4 at Louisiana Downs. Twin K/K Racing LLC is the breeder.

Zee Runaway Train picked up $2,200 for his second-place effort. Brian Stroud saddled the Freighttrain B gelding for owner CMRT Racing Partners. Claudio Aguilar had the riding call aboard the 3-year-old from the Dominyun mare Zenergetic. Bred by Zenergetic Group, Zee Runaway Train has earned $17,440 in five starts.

Blue Bueno, under jockey Ubaldo Luna, was a head back to earn $1,210 for third. The daughter Jet Black Patriot racing for owner Jose Estrada Quarter Horses broke her maiden on January 5 at Louisiana Downs. Conditioned by trainer Alex Clark, the $17,410 earner is out of Mcm Fast Dashin Blue by Jess Louisiana Blue. Donald Sargent is the breeder.

Bad As U Can Be completed the field. Flint River Train and Magic Knight completed the field.
