Eyeondaprize Scores Second Career Stakes Victory In $35,000 French Quarter

OPELOUSAS, LA—OCTOBER 30, 2021—Eyeondaprize, under jockey Everardo Rodriguez, got her second career stakes win on Saturday when she ran down post-time favorite Sheza Freighttrain T by a head in the $35,000 French Quarter Stakes at Evangeline Downs.

Saddled by trainer Rosendo Valdez, Jr., Eyeondaprize completed the 330 yards in :16.558 seconds, equaling a 98 speed index. It was the seventh career win in 18 starts for the daughter of multiple stakes sire Fast Prize Jordan.

Eyeondaprize races for owner Rosendo Valdez. Bred in Louisiana by Daniel Trahan, from the Game Patriot mare Good Game Meg, Eyeondaprize picked up $21,000 to bring her earnings total to $110,160. She was second in the Flashy Hemp Stakes at Delta Downs in her last start July 31st and won the Mothers Day Stakes in May.

Multiple graded stakes winner Sheza Freighttrain T suffered broke a three-race win streak that included wins in the EVD Dash, Flashy Hemp and the Selma Stakes. Eric Long trains the Freighttrain B 3-year-old filly for owner Patrick Richardson. Bred by Rusty Trahan, from the Carters Cartel mare Cloning Around, Sheza Freighttrain T has won nine of 15 starts and earned $432,259.

Mark Kendrick owned-and-trained Five Bar Miracles finished another neck back to earn $3,850 for third. Ubaldo Luna had the riding call aboard the James Magnon-bred Five Bar Cartel filly out of the thoroughbred mare Expect Miracles by Valid Expectations. She has earned $47,183.

Escandalo, Annas T Time, Rose Pool and Ms Fast Prize Doll completed the field. Love This Dash was scratched.
