Mr Sixy Piloto Holds In De Saix Stakes Win


Mr Sixy Piloto, under jockey Everardo Rodriguez, holds off Blueacrossyourmind in the $25,000 De Saix Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course on Saturday.

NEW ORLEANS, LA—SEPTEMBER 7, 2019—Mr Sixy Piloto, broke sharp under jockey Everardo Rodriguez, then held off Blueacrossyourmind by a neck to win the $25,000 De Saix Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course on Saturday. Jj Paint On Luck was a head back in the blanket finish to get third.

Saddled by trainer Vann E. Haywood, Mr Sixy Piloto completed the 300 yards in :15.309 seconds, equaling a 103 speed index. It was the third career win in six starts for the son of leading Louisiana sire Mr Piloto.

Owner Jerry Deville, Jr. purchased the sorrel gelding for $7,500 at the 2018 LQHBA Yearling Sale for breeders Grant Farms, LLC. Out of the Corona Cartel mare Sixy Silhouette, Mr Sixy Piloto earned $21,000 to boost his bankroll to $49,500 on the year.

Runner-up Blueacrossyourmind earned $7,000 for his effort. Trey Ellis conditions the son of multiple stakes sire Jess Louisiana Blue for Triple Cross Racing LLC. Luis Vivanco had the riding call aboard the sorrel gelding out of Doivercrossyourmind by Mr Eye Opener. Thomas Glenn Fontenot bred the earner of $28,788

Jj Paint On Luck, a daughter of first crop sire Paint Me Perry, races for J. and J. Stables LLC and is trained by Jose Carrizales. Ricardo Hernandez, Jr. rode the brown filly out of Hy On Luck by FDD Dynasty.. Bred by Juan J. Bazaldua, Jj Paint On Luck earned $3,850 for third.

Fast Black Hunter, Zee Strike, Apolitical Xpression Jf Cash Fantasy, Couldabeen A Hero, Sizzlish and A Game Jess completed the field.
