Owner Bobby Cox and Trainer Kenny Roberts Dominate Harrah's Schoolings Races on Friday

Louisiana Downs hosted six schooling races on Friday for 2-year-olds who remain eligible for the $250,000-est. Harrah's Entertainment Futurity(G3).

BOSSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 10, 2017—AQHA's 2016 Leading breeder Bobby D. Cox and leading Louisiana trainer Kenny Roberts bookended six schooling races at Louisiana Downs today (Friday) with a pair of two-year-olds who posted the top two times from 37 head who participated.

All of the entries remain eligible for the March 4th trials to the $250,000-est. Harrah's Entertainment Futurity(G3) at Louisiana Downs. The 300-yard final will be contested on closing day March 22.

Trainer Kenny Roberts saddled $34,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale repurchase Emnent to a 2¾ length victory in the last schooling race Friday. Jockey Donald Watson rode the son of multiple stakes sire Dominyun to fastest clocking of :12.022 seconds over the 220-yard course.

A homebred for Bobby Cox, the brown colt is a half-brother to Texas Classic Derby(G1) winner Bodacious Eagle ($667,415). His second dam is the champion/champion producing Dash For Cash mare Dashing Phoebe.

In the opening race, the Roberts trained Aguila defeated Together To The End by a head to capture the second fastest time of :12.158 seconds. N. Castaneda rode the Cox-bred daughter of leading sire One Famous Eagle from the Grade 1 winner and multiple stakes-producer Quick Moon Sign by Royal Quick Dash. Aguila had been consigned to the Ruidoso Select Sale last September but did not go through the sales ring.

Last year the Bobby Cox-bred American Runaway colt, Duponte, won the Harrah's Entertainment Futurity(G3).

Together To The End, a filly by champion Inseperable from the Holland Ease mare Gabbey Holland, held on for the third fastest time of :12.173 seconds. J. Sanchez saddled the sorrel filly for owner/breeder Alejandro Moya. From the family of All American Futurity(G1) winner Falling In Love Again, Together To The End was a $3,500 repurchase at the Heritage Place September Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City.

Third crop sire The Louisiana Cartel had two winners on the card, Louisiana Silk posted the 4th fastest time of :12.253 and The Cartel Warrior got the fifth fastest clocking of :12.259. Other sires with winners were Heza Fast Dash, Desirio and Foose.
