Fast Dashin Diamond Dominates Trial, Posts Fastest Time For Delta Downs LA-Bred Derby

The 10 fastest qualifiers from four trial races at Delta today will return to the Louisiana racetrack on Saturday, July 31, to vie for the $101,561 winner's purse.

Fast Dashin Diamond drifted in early under jockey David Alvarez but was much the best when she stopped the timer at :19.672 seconds, a 94-speed index on a sloppy (sealed) race surface.

Champion trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. conditions the daughter of leading sire Heza Fast Dash for owner Mo Racing. Bred by Margie Loup, from the FDD Dynasty mare Diamonds Are Forever B, Fast Dashin Diamonds has compiled a (8) 3-3-2 record and earned $304,305. She was second in the LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity(RG1) and third in the LQHBA Sale Futurity(RG1) last year at 2.

Supa Five Bar raced to his fourth consecutive wins in the third trial to post the second fastest time of :19.703 seconds, a 93-speed index. Jockey Everardo Rodriguez rode the son of multiple stakes sire Five Bar Cartel to a neck win over Fireintheblood.

Trainer Rosendo Valdez, Jr. trains the 3-year-old gelding for owner Miguel Vargas. Bred by Wilson One Consulting LLC, from the Heza Fast Dash mare Shesa La Lassie, Supa Vie Bar has earned nearly $40,000 in eight starts.
