Apollitical B Snow Gets Second Stakes Win of Delta Season In Grade 3 Miss Polly


Apollitical B Snow, under jockey Everardo Rodriguez, winning the $50,000 Grade 3 Miss Polly Classic on Monday at Delta Downs.

VINTON, LA—JUNE14, 2021—Apollitical B Snow, under jockey Everardo Rodriguez, raced to his second stakes win of the Delta Downs season when he defeated multiple stakes winner Mpshinning in the $50,000 Grade 3 Miss Polly Classic Monday evening.

The son of leading third-crop sire Apollitical Blood completed the 400 yards in a quick :19.346 seconds, equaling a 103 speed index. It was the fifth career win the brown gelding who took the Open Me A Corona Stakes (RG2) here on May 11th.

Rosendo Valdez Jr. conditions Apollitical B Snow for owner Christopher A. Villatoro. Bred in Louisiana by Glinden Leger Estate, from the This Snow Is Royal mare Mary Snow, the 4-year-old gelding picked up $36,000 to boost his earnings mark to $114,658.

Restricted Grade 1 winner Mpshinning earned $12,000 for his second-place effort. Trainer Adrian Huitron named jockey Ali Rivera to ride the son of multiple stakes sire Mr Piloto for owner Larry Bourdreaux.

The 10-time winner was bred in Louisiana by Jon and Donna McPherson, from the First To Shine mare Shinningperrydash, and has earned $817,375.

Posttime favorite Stone Cold Leader finished three-quarters back to earn $5,500 for third. Also a graded stakes winner, the 6-year-old Indiana-bred son of Brookstone Bay races for owner Patrick Richardson and trainer Eric Long. Rolando Pina had the riding call.

Bred by Mark Michel, from the Leader Of The Class mare Sheza Classy Leader, Stone Cold Leader has won 14 races and earned $563,293.

Jess B One, Katchi Dat, Jess To Shine, Hot Dam Bam A Lam, Fantasticazoom Jr, Wagons Dash and My Fast Prize completed the field.

Delta Downs will begin its sixth week of American Quarter Horse racing on Monday with a 10-race card that kicks off at 3 pm. The featured as is the $50,000 Miss Polly Classic.

Sent to the gate at odds of 2-1, Apollitical B Snow paid $6 to win, $3 to place and $2.80 to show. Mpshinning returned $3.20 to place and $3 to show. Stone Cold Leader was worth $4.80 to show. Delta Downs’ race week will continue Tuesday through Thursday with first post time each day at 3 pm CT.
