Dlj Imma B Famous Dominates Mid-City Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course


Dlj Imma B Famous, under jockey Ricardo Hernandez, Jr., dominates the $40,000 Mid-City Stakes(RG2) at Fair Grounds Race Course.

NEW ORLEANS, LA—SEPTEMBER 7, 2019— Dlj Imma B Famous was in complete control under jockey Ricardo Hernandez, Jr. on Saturday as he posted a dominating 2-˝ length win over Fabulously Black in the $40,000 Mid-City Stakes(RG2) at Fair Grounds Race Course.

The son of multiple stakes sire Coronas Leaving Your cruised over the 440 yard course in a fast :21.338 clocking, equaling a 108 speed index into a 5 mph crosswind. Trainer Alberto Solis saddled the 6-year-old to his fifth career win for owner Myron McKinnon.

The $24,000 winner's purse boosted his career mark to $121,125. The bay gelding finished second in the Louisiana Classic Stakes(RG2) and third in the Val Fortune Stakes (RG2) at Delta Downs earlier this year. Donald Henderson bred Dlj Imma B Famous from the Strawflyin Buds mare Yugo Buds.

Fabulous Black stepped up in class off an allowance win at Delta last June to pick up $8,000 for second. Champion trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr. conditions the graded stakes-placed son of Game Patriot for owner Pete Scarmardo. Champion Quarter Horse breeder Grant Farms LLC bred the brown gelding form the Mr Jess Perry mare Fabulously Fast. He has earned nearly $100,000.

Dashing For The Money finished three-quarter back in third-place for owner Juan Antonio Carrillo, Sr. and trainer Juan Carrillo, Jr. Everardo Rodriguez rode the Dashing Bye 4-year-old out of First Girl To Shine by First To Shine. Bred by Carl Crawford, Dashing For The Money earned $4,400 for his effort.

Lightemupwithcharm, Beyondthecos, Its What It Is, Jls Dash N Fire, Tdz Going Nuts, Seven Point Three and Eye Am Sizzlin completed the field.
