Im For Real Just Up To Win $40,000 Audubon Stakes


Im For Real (#5) gets up over Fastdashing Lassie (#6) in the $40,000 Audubon Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course.

NEW ORLEANS, LA—AUGUST 16, 2019—Graded stakes winner Im For Real got up at the wire Friday to defeat Fastdashing Lassie by a neck in a blanket finish to the $40,000 Audubon Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course.

Ridden by jockey Pedro Espinosa, Im For Real completed the 350 yards in :17.553 seconds, equaling a 95 speed index, into a 10 mph crosswind.

Trainer Fructuoso Huitron saddled the Lassie Futurity(RG2) winner for owner/breeder Dale Rogers. The gray daughter of Whathaveigottado has compiled a (11) 4-3-1 record and the $24,000 winner's purse boosted her bankroll to $251,428. She is out of the Dash Plays On mare Imnotplaying.

Fastdashing Lassie picked up $8,000 for second. Kenneth Roberts Sr. saddled the Heza Fast Dash daughter for owner Keithon Roberts. Jumonville Farms and Burnett Ranches bred the brown filly from the Feature Mr Jess mare The Louisiana Lassie. The multiple stakes-placed filly has earned $87,810.

Rogue One, also a daughter of Heza Fast Dash, finished a nose back in the blanket finish to earn $4,400 for third. Racing for owner Rogue Equine LLC, Luciano Duenez rode the sorrel filly out of Miss Jess Rogue by Mr Jess Perry. Bred by Triple M Farms, LLC, Rouge One has earned $82,929.

Corona Prize, Google Chrome B, Lil Biscuit, First Game Chick, High And Caliente, Flamin Hot Fortune and Monees Fast Cash completed the field.
