Late Effort Garners First Stakes Win for Rbd Jessaswingin in Party Girl Saturday

BOSSIER CITY, LA—JANUARY 28, 2017—Under jockey Alfonso Lujan, Rbd Jessaswingin held off a late charge by Cajun Diva to get her first career stakes win in the 12th running of the $25,000 Party Girl Stakes at Louisiana Downs Saturday afternoon. Fast Dash Chicks finished half-a-length back in third.

Saddled by trainer Yoani Abreu, Rbd Jessaswingin completed the 350 yards in :17.774 seconds, a 94-speed index into a 9-mph headwind. It was the sixth career win for the 5-year-old daughter of Swingin Jess. The $15,000 winner's purse boosted the sorrel mares earnings total to nearly $130,000.

Jaimie Gutierrez owns the Louisiana-bred out of Furby by Royal Quick Dash. RB & Dox' Stables is the breeder.

Stepping into stakes company for the first time, off back-to-back wins for a $7,500 tag at Evangeline Downs last year, Cajun Diva earned her black type under jockey Juan Torres. Salvador Flores saddled the Jet Black Patriot 5-year-old out of Lajollas Leadinglady by Special Leader. Bred by Janelle Simon, the bay mare pocketed $5,000 to bring her earnings mark to $50,908.

Fast Dash Chicks, a 5-year-old daughter of leading sire Heza Fast Dash, races for owner Hector Cedillo and trainer Jose Garcia. Floriberto Maldonado rode the brown mare to her third place finish. Bred by Rogers Farms, Tim and Jennie Rogers, Fast Dash Chicks picked up $2,750 for her effort.

Jet Black Presence, Poonies Perfect Jet, Rt Zoomin Bigtime, Be Bop Agouti and Osceola Patriot completed the field.
