OPELOUSAS, LA—OCTOBER 28, 2016— Evangeline Downs hosted 15 qualifying trials for the $1,000,000 LQHBA Breeders Futurity (RG1) on Friday night and owner Miguel Aguilar’s Rdd Lajollanfastdash posted the fastest run of the night with a time of :19.536 for the 400 yards in the 10th race of the night. That time equaled a speed index of 102 over the fast track with Raul Ramirez, Jr. at the controls.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from 136 Louisiana-bred two-year-olds who participated on Friday, will return to Evangeline Downs on Saturday, November 19th to vie for a winner's purse of $445,000. The 10th place horse will pickup $25,000.

Rdd Lajollanfastdash has now won six of his seven lifetime starts, including the Mardi Gras Futurity at Louisiana Downs and the LQHBA Sales Futurity at Fair Grounds already this year. He earned $4,200 for his trial victory on Friday night, which increases his lifetime earnings to $290,677.

Bred in Louisiana by Richard Dale Domingue, Rdd Lajollanfastdash is a 2-year-old gelding by Heza Fast Dash, out of the Streakin La Jolla mare, La Jollan Queen. He is trained by Jose Sanchez.

In addition to the fastest qualifier, the 10th trial race of the evening produced the three fastest qualifiers for the Final, which will be run at Evangeline Downs on November 19. Fired Up Perry, by Game Patriot, was the second-fastest qualifier with a time of 19.681 seconds and Louisiana Jewels, by Jess Louisiana Blue, was the third-fastest qualifier with a time of 19.763 seconds.

A shake was held following the conclusion of the program to eliminate one of those three horses from the Final and Lovin That Sizzle lost the shake and, therefore, did not qualify for the $1,000,000 Final.
