Open Me A Corona Stakes Draws Eight Louisiana-Breds


La Mos Corona will make her next start in Saturday’s 350-yard, $50,000 Open Me A Corona Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.

VINTON, LA—MAY 1, 2018—La Mos Corona, a 4-year-old daughter of Coronas Leaving You, will put her four-race win streak on the line in Saturday’s 350-yard, $50,000 Open Me A Corona< Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.

Trained by Orlando Orozco for owner M & M Stables LLC, La Mos Corona will be making her first start since January 27, when the mare scored a half-length victory in the 350-yard, $25,000 Party Girl Stakes (R) at Louisiana Downs. La Mos Corona drew 3 and will be ridden by Floriberto Maldonado.

Other contenders include Fernando Ramirez’s JW Who Dat, a 6-year-old Agouti gelding trained by Eric Palacio. A two-time 870-yard stakes winner during the Louisiana Downs winter meet, JW Who Dat will be shortening in distance off of his third-place finish, three-quarters of length behind winner Southern Temptation, in the 550-yard, $20,000 Harris County Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park.

JW Who Dat drew the rail post and will be ridden by Antonio Alberto.
