Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity Trials Set for Saturday

BOSSIER CITY, LA--FEBRUARY 26, 2018--A total of 63 juveniles, all of whom will be making their first career starts, has been entered in Saturday’s 300-yard Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity (G3) trials at Louisiana Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Saturday’s seven heats will meet in the $75,000-added Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity final on March 21.

KR Mr Winter and A Dirty Deva, a pair of recent training race winners, will race in the fourth and fifth trials, respectively. A Colorado-bred son of champion Carters Cartel trained by Guadalupe Garza Jr. for owner Mario Villarreal, KR Mr Winter scored a 220-yard schooling race victory in :12.58 on February 9.

KR Mr Winter was a $7,500 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City. He drew post 7 and will be ridden by Jose A. Rodriguez.

A Dirty Deva races for Ty Rampy from the barn of trainer Trey Ellis. A homebred daughter of Valiant Hero, the filly won a 220-yard training race in :12.39 on February 9.
