Zooboo, Hez Kwik Return in Vinton Stakes


Mardi Gras Derby winner Zooboo is one of eight Louisiana-bred sophomores entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $50,000 Vinton Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.

VINTON, LA—MAY 18, 2017—Stakes winners Zooboo and Hez Kwik are among the eight Louisiana-bred sophomores entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $50,000 Vinton Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.

Zooboo will be stretching out in distance off of his neck victory at odds of 18-1 in the 350-yard, $94,000 Mardi Gras Derby (R) at Louisiana Downs on March 18. The gelded son of Coronas Leaving You is trained by Martin Trejo for owner Rosalio Espinosa.

Zooboo drew post 8 and will be ridden by Cipriano Vidana.

Hez Kwik will be making his season debut from post 6 in the Vinton. Racing for Richard Mendoza from the barn of trainer Eliseo Celestino, the gray Heza Fast Dash gelding ended his 2-year-old campaign with a three-race winning streak that included a neck victory in the 350-yard, $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile Stakes (RG2) at Fair Grounds Racecourse in New Orleans.

Hez Kwik will be ridden by Ricardo Hernandez Jr.
