Delta’s Firecracker Futurity Trials Draw 54 Juveniles

VINTON, LA—JUNE 6, 2016—Stakes winner Sizzlin Stewart is one of 54 2-year-olds entered in Saturday’s 350-yard Firecracker Futurity (G2) trials at Delta Downs.
A homebred gray son of Sizzlin Cartel trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr. for owner P and D Racing, Sizzlin Stewart has earned $48,668 from two starts, and his two wins include a three-quarter length victory as the fastest qualifier in the 330-yard, $89,000 Old South Futurity at Delta Downs on May 14.
Sizzlin Stewart will be ridden by Gilbert Ortiz from post 7 in the fourth of six trials.
Florentino Leon’s Graceful Eagle, a bay daughter of One Famous Eagle trained by Adrian Huitron, will be ridden by Damian Martinez from post 6 in the fifth heat. The filly has earned $21,780 from two outs and was a finalist in the April 23, $540,000 Sam Houston Futurity (G2).
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $100,000-added Firecracker Futurity final on July 2.
