Keepn It Kool Returns in Delta’s Virgil Bond Stakes

VINTON, LA—JUNE 1, 2015—David Vance’s Keepn It Kool, a two-time 870 stakes winner at the 2014 Evangeline Downs fall meet, is one of eight distance specialists entered in Friday’s 870-yard, $25,000 Virgil Bond Stakes at Delta Downs.

A 6-year-old First To Shine gelding trained by Danny Eldridge, Keepn It Kool is coming off of a second-place finish in an 870-yard, $16,000 open-condition allowance at Delta on April 22. Keepn It Kool’s 5-year-old campaign included a three-race win streak that included victories in the $35,000 Races N Aces Stakes (R) and $30,000 IP 870 Stakes at Evangeline Downs.

Keepn It Kool drew post 7 and will be ridden by John Hamilton.

Other contenders include TF Corona N Passion, a 5-year-old Too Tough To Catch gelding trained by Steven Salazar for owner Renato Contreras. TF Corona N Passion scored a 2 3/4-length victory in the 870-yard, $15,000 Marathon Stakes at Louisiana Downs in January.
