Big Timer Looks to Defend Title in Delta 550 Stakes


Stacey Moak’s Big Timer will look to defend his title in Saturday’s $25,000 Delta 550 Stakes at Delta Downs.

VINTON, LA—MAY 13, 2015—Stacey Moak’s Big Timer, a homebred 5-year-old son of Bigtime Favorite, will look to defend his title in Saturday’s $25,000 Delta 550 Stakes at Delta Downs.

Big Timer drew post 9 and will be ridden by Randy Edison for trainer Vann Haywood. The gelding has won both of his starts at this 550-yard trip, including last year’s Delta 550 Stakes.

Other contenders include Roberto Rosales’ Rusty Bloom, a 4-year-old Jet Cartel gelding trained by Carlos Saldivar. Rusty Bloom is coming off of a three-quarter length victory in a 550-yard allowance-optional claiming race at Delta on April 23, his first career start at the distance. Raul Ramirez Jr. has been named to ride Rusty Bloom from post 6.
