VINTON, LA—APRIL 21, 2015—Jose Guzman’s First Kool Lajolla, a finalist in the March 21, $241,000 Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity (G3) at Louisiana Downs, is one of 125 Louisiana-bred 2-year-old fillies entered in Friday’s 330-yard Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity (RG2) trials at Delta Downs.

A $7,500 buy at last year’s Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders’ Association Yearling Sale, First Kool Lajolla is trained by Jose A. Garcia. The filly by First N Kool has earned $16,245 from two outs.

Eddi Martinez has been named to ride First Kool Lajolla from post 9 in the ninth of 13 trials.

JB Red Scorpion and One Tough Fox, finalists in the March 14, $301,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs, are entered in the second and ninth heats, respectively. A bay daughter of Jess An Idea racing for Juan J. Bazaldua and trained by Raul Rodriguez, JB Red Scorpion ran eighth as the fifth-fastest qualifier in the Mardi Gras. The filly drew the rail post and will be ridden by Jorge Linares on Friday.

One Tough Fox finished fifth, 1 1/4 lengths behind winner Magic Black Jack, as the fastest qualifier in the Mardi Gras. Alejandro Medina will ride the chestnut daughter of Too Tough To Catch for owners Yoni Martinez and Vicki McIlvain, who also trains the filly.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Friday’s trials will meet in the May 15, $75,000-added Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity final.
