Second-Crop Sire FDD Going Grand Gets First Stakes Winner


FDD Going Grand sired his first stakes winner in Wednesday's Grade 3 $238,090 Harrah's Entertainment Futurity at Louisiana Downs.

OPELOUSAS, LA—MARCH 22, 2018—Second-crop sire FDD Going Grand sired his first stakes winner on Wednesday when fastest qualifier Going Noble returned to win the Grade 3 $238,090 Harrah's Entertainment Futurity at Louisiana Downs.

With leading rider Everardo Rodriguez aboard, the homebred racing for owner-breeder Mercy Hinklin Horse Farm LLC entered the finals with the fastest qualifying time from the March 3 trials.

Despite breaking outwardly from post position ten, Going Noble powered to an impressive 1-¼ length win while completing the 300-yard final in :15.258, earning a 102-speed index.

Out of the Jess Elie mare A Noble Jess Elie, Going Noble earned $107,141 for his victory.

From only eight starters in two crops to race, FDD Going Grand is the sire of four winners, 1 stakes winner and 1 stakes-placed with earnings nearing $160,000 and average earnings per starter of more than $19,000.

Wednesday victory in the Harrah's Entertainment Futurity propelled the son of leading sire FDD Dynasty in the #1 spot for Second-Crop Leading Sires of Money Earners.

A homebred for owner-breeder Mercy Hinklin, the Grade 3 stakes winning FDD Going Grand won or placed in 15 of 17 career starts and earned $197,510. He won the Develop A Plan Stakes(G3), Old South Derby, Evangeline Downs Dash and was second in the Dash For Cash Futurity(G1), Miss Polly Classic(G3), Firecracker Derby, Gentilly Dash and Sam's Town Stakes.

FDD Going Grand's sire FDD Dynasty has sired 52 stakes winners, earners of nearly $15 million including back-to-back AQHA Racing World Champion Jessies First Down SI 112 ($1,011,034 to 6, 2017), champion Kates Dynasty SI 99 ($572,882, Texas Classic Futurity, etc.), etc.

His dam is the multiple stakes-producing Corona Cartel mare Cash Cartel SI 90. She is the dam of 10 ROM, two black type including FDD Going Grand SI 112 (see above), RG2 winner Cash Flow Cartel SI 104 ($191,744), G3-finalist Cash N FDD Dynasty SI 98 ($55,178), Wave Carvers Cartel SI 103 ($36,635), etc.

The second dam is the stakes winning Dash For Cash mare Maid For Cash SI 96 ($26,442), dam of 8 ROM including Grade 3 winner La Jolla Maid SI 95 ($73,870), stakes-placed Foldin Cash SI 102 ($17,115), etc.
