LQHBA Yearling Sale Enjoys Across-the-Board Increases, Fillies Rule In Closing Session

KINDER, LA—AUGUST 7, 2021—Four colts were the high-seller's in the opening session of the LQHBA Yearling Sale on Friday. Today (Saturday) fillies ruled with the two high-selling slots.

Gross receipts for the two-day LQHBA Yearling Sale, that ended today (Saturday), totaled $6,928,300 with 447 horses sold from 549 offered, a 32% increase over 2020 when the sale had 375 head sell from 484 offered for $4,690,100.

The overall sale average rose 19% this year to $15,500 vs. $12,507 in 2020. The Median saw a 15% increase over 2020 to $11,000 compared to $9,500 last year.

"A great sale for our consignors and buyers," LQHBA Executive Director said last Saturday. "We had quality yearlings that everyone will be hearing about in 2022."

TM Ranch purchased the high-seller again Saturday when they paid $85,000 for Hip 409, Rf Debs Dash N Blue. Robicheaux Ranch, Inc., Agent for Rogers Farm consigned the daughter of multiple stakes sire Jess Louisiana Blue from the RG1-placed Heza Fast Dash mare Fast Dash N Deb. The sorrel filly is a sister to stakes winner McM Fast Dashin Blue and stakes-placed Rf Fast Dash N Blue.

Saturday's second high-seller at $70,000, Hip 320 Lynns Sweet Blood, went to Jaime Cardenas. Triple Lynn Farms, LCC consigned the daughter of leading third-crop sire Apollitical Blood from the stakes-placed Jess Louisiana Blue mare Victoria Sweet Angle, a sister to Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) winner Bradys March Madness.

TM Ranch paid $100,000 for overall high-seller Apolliticial Delight, a son of leading third-crop sire Apollitical Blood who sold in Friday's opening session. The bay colt is from the first crop from the Tres Seis mare Peacefull Delight, a Grade 1-finalist and half-sister to AQHA Racing World Champion Be A Bono and RG1 winner Peace Fire. Robicheaux Ranch, Inc., Agent for Simmons Ranch was the consignor.

Trey Ellis, Agent was the sale's leading buyer with 14 head for a $421,000 gross. TM Ranch had four head for $268,500 and Jerry Deville purchased five yearling for $205,00.

Grants Farms LLC was the leading consignor or agent for the sale with 23 head grossing $522,700. Robicheaux Ranch, Inc., Agent sold 28 head for $491,000 and Brian Anderson, Agent for Copper Springs Ranch NM, LLC had 13 head gross $329,400.

Sir Runaway Dash was the sale's leading sire (by average with two or more sold) with two yearlings for $35,500. Apollitical Blood had 14 for $33,550 and Heza Fast Dash sold 3 yearlings for a $25,333 average.
