Jumonville Farms Purchases Champion Feature Mr Bojangles


Champion Feature Mr Bojangles will stand the 2017 season at Jumonville Farms, near Ventress, Louisiana.



VENTRESS, LA—NOVEMBER 5, 2016—Jumonville Farms announced today they have purchased the two-time AQHA Racing champion Feature Mr Bojangles to stand at their Ventress, Louisiana farm in 2017. His fee will be $3,000.

The 2011 Champion 2-Year-Old Colt by leading sire Feature Mr Jess won or placed in 15 of 20 starts and earned $899,434. He won the Rainbow Futurity(G1), Hobbs America Futurity(G2) and Four Corners Futurity as a two-year-old. At 3, he was third in the Grade 1 Ruidoso Derby and a finalist in the Grade 1 Rainbow Derby, Grade 3 Hobbs America Derby and Grade 1 Zia Park Championship.

After breeding his first book of mares in 2013, he returned to racetrack to win The Championship at Sunland Park(G1) and finish second in the Zia Park Championship(G1) and Lovington Stakes(G2). The young stallion earned his second AQHA Racing championship honor when he was named the 2013 AQHA Racing Champion Aged Stallion.

Feature Mr Bojangles is the leading money earning colt by Feature Mr Jess, the sire of earners of nearly $25 million, 72 stakes winners and seven champions. His top performers include 4-time champion Heartswideopen ($1,885,283, All American Futurity-G1, etc.), 3-time champion Jess You And I $1,851,691, Champion of Champions-G1, etc.) and champion Stylish Jess Br ($804,298, Mildred N Vessels Memorial Handicap-G1, etc.).

Jumonville Farms bred and raced Feature Mr Jess, a multiople graded winner of nearly $540,000 with wins that included the Rainbow Futurity(G1) and Rainbow Derby(G1).

From limited starters in his first crop to race in 2017, Feature Mr Bojangles has sired South Valley Futurity runner-up Mc Addies Feature, Minesota Stallions Breeders' Futurity finalist Its Crunch Tyme and winner Bo Traffic.

Feature Mr Bojangles dam is the First Down Dash mare Catch This Dash, a half-sister to champion Jumping Tac Flash ($147,065), champion and leading sire Splash Bac ($135,505), G2 winner Goinbye ($52,471), stakes-placed Absolve ($113,433), Lady Nayen ($65,083) and Chicks Boudro ($42,425), etc.
