VINTON, LA---JUNE 8, 2021—San Lorenzeaux, fastest qualifier to the restricted Grade 2 Laddie Futurity at Delta Downs, has been scratched along with two of his stablemates this weekend at Delta Downs.

Owned by Rogelio Marquez, Jr. and trained by Hector Alcala, all three horses were all reported to have tested positive for prohibited substances from the May 21st and May 22nd trials for the Laddie and Lassie Futurities.

San Lorenzeaux, a son of Carters Cartel, was a 2-½ length winner while setting the fastest time from 16 trial races.

San Lorenzito, a Jess Louisiana Blue, colt who won his trial and got the ninth fastest time, will also not be allowed to run in the $346,842 final for accredited 2-year-old Louisiana-breds.

Marquez, Jr's filly San Lorenzo Dash, a homebred daughter of Heza Fast Dash, has been scratched from Saturday's $318,983 Lassie Futurity(RG2) final.

All three horses were reported to have returned positives tests for prohibited substances.

A hearing has been set for Wednesday (June 9) with the Delta Downs stewards.

Owner Marquez won the $926,500 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG1) with the San Lorenzo Tay in April, however he tested positive for the prohibited substance Clenbuterol. Kelly Heltzel Perez trained the undefeated Ivory James gelding.

Present without Council at a May 5th Show Cause hearing, Perez said she had returned all the horses she has in training to their owners. A Merits hearing is set for June 23rd and an expected disqualification and new order of finish could be announced.

Mr Fast Mallard, the 11th fastest qualifier in the May 22 Laddie trials trained by Adrian Huitron, also was reported to have returned a positive test and will not be allowed to move up into the futurity.

The 12th and 13th fastest qualifiers, Put Me N Coach (g. by Carters Cartel) and Magic Bux (c. by Zoomin For Bux), from the Laddie Futurity trials, have been moved up to compete in Saturday's final.

RDD Runaway Jackie (f. by Sir Runway Dash), the 11th fastest qualifier from the Lassie trials will move up and compete in the Lassie final on Saturday.
